cacophony

12 March 2010

The waves crash in my mind
and my heart is filled with
the sea-longing, the heart-calling
to the crashing of the blue-grey-green waves
against the pure white sands
of my childhood;
memory is a cacophony
of sentiment, merriment, sorrow, and wonder,
of waves that wash the consciousness
and recede below the high tide line
hidden deep inside the mind.
