a bargain

21 May 2010

close shaved, and saved from another disaster,
life groans, and moans for release–
rest, reprieve
but all resistance fails
and so the substantial lack begins again
where all is felled
like ancient pines with lumbered axes
(certain as sunrise, death, and taxes)
brought low where all is hollow,
dull, lackluster, and damaged;
selling the pearl of great price
at yard sale bargains.

      Thank you very much Glynn. I think we all sometimes forget what a treasure we have received. I know I certainly take it for granted all the time.
